Part of energy work is also learning to increase the amount you move through will or emotion.
Avatar
That's pretty interesting. What would you say energy feels like?
Avatar
Albino Elephant 3/14/2021 5:22 PM
Well it depends on the type and people also experience it differently, but generically it feels like little tingles in my body. It can also feel kinda musty like a thick fog or steam if it is stagnant.
Avatar
We've felt some strange things that we didn't have an explanation for other than "the brain caused it"
5:23 PM
Sometimes like a tingly cloud overlapping the body
5:24 PM
We can summon the feeling too
Avatar
Albino Elephant 3/14/2021 5:24 PM
Yeah all I can say is that spiritual happenings affect us more than most people think and less than spiritual people think. If you really look you can find spiritual causes or effects of a lot.
5:24 PM
How do you summon the feeling?
Avatar
When my host was forcing me early on, the feeling would come on while focusing. After a while they could cause the feeling just by focusing the same way
Avatar
Albino Elephant 3/14/2021 5:26 PM
Oh yeah. That is called gnosis. Essentially a receptive mindstate and spiritual state.
5:27 PM
Emptying yourself of external thoughts and emotions
Avatar
Is there somewhere we can read about that?
Avatar
Albino Elephant 3/14/2021 5:50 PM
Gnosticism is a practice centered around entering and using gnosis so probably any book about that

what's your method for distinguishing tingling caused by spiritual energy and tingling caused by something else? genuine question
6:11 PM
for example, when we help people learning phantom touch in vr (which is basically touch imposition), the first experience every person we were showing it to was described as tingling sensation at the part of the body we were touching - which happens quite consistently in the first 15minutes of the exercises we do with them - and with time it becomes more vivid as touch. with practice people can manipulate this touch imposition at will, and we can do it in real life with no effort at all, even in a form of energy (edited)
6:12 PM
it's very vivid experience. how can we tell if it's spiritual energy or just touch imposition?

@Albino Elephant i like how you describe all of this because it's something i experience when i do inner work and healing with music
7:21 PM
i tried to explain it to some people but it's always hard so i made vfx in vrchat to show people how i experience it i made a video of part of it here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G-P0gpHhYZ4 i wonder what you think about it so everything i made there is what i experience when i do inner work and i might say that it feels like energy parts of those are controlled by the music i play and parts of those are controlled by me the effects are very different depending on which effect it is sometimes it's tingling sometimes it's warm sometimes cold sometimes it's squishy sometimes it feels like light sometimes like breeze
7:21 PM
feel free to jump through if it's too slow but i wonder what you think (edited)
7:22 PM
in that video i showed a few ways i experience it
7:24 PM
i also do sessions with people in vrchat i have those balls of energy in my hands that people react strongly when i touch them with it you can see me forming them at 1:30
7:26 PM
also in this video i show how it feels when energy goes through me https://youtu.be/sBINev9yPUg?t=39

I'm out for the day so I can't watch videos but music is one way people do magic and so that might be what you are doing and creating visible effects for yourself. I do a similar thing with spoken spells.

This is the energy inside of you and to move it imagine that thing moving.
@Albino Elephant I find this interesting as a tulpa because when I was learning possession, I would fail because I was imagining or visualizing the body moving instead of actually moving it. Moving the body takes a different kind of mental action than imagination. I wonder if just imagining the energy moving is really as effective as a mental motion more akin to moving the body (allowing for the idea of spiritual energy being real)
Deleted User 3/15/2021 1:26 PM
You can look into psychokinesis tutorials. Some people on youtube have quite useful approaches. I personally use this guy's approaches for manifestation rn https://youtu.be/9GqfkHscxa8

@Deleted User Yeah that first video did look like how I did a lot of energy work back when I played around with it more. Basic psiball in the beginning and then moving outside of your body and growing your control of it until it is about the size of a room. That is also a pretty good way to cleanse your space.

About it generally feeling like tingles in the body, what relationship does this have to conscious attempts to create tactile sensations, which people find easy to do? Robert Bruce says what he calls tactile imaging can be done by blind people and people with aphantasia. I'm wondering what the relationship is there, like if someone can move a sensation without moving energy.

yeah our host has been aphantasic, but we have very strong tactile/kinaesthetic imagination
Avatar
Albino Elephant 3/15/2021 7:56 PM
I'm not sure about the relation but I'm sure there is one. I know that for the most part I can create tactile sensations without moving much energy but for someone that is less sensitive to energy I would imagine the correlation to be stronger.
7:56 PM
Some people might even be feeling the energy they are moving as those tactile sensations

Hmm Also there's someone called Will Worker who says spiritual energy cannot be stored or made into things. In reply to someone asking about absorbing masculine energy, for some reason like so that his astral projected form would look male instead of female (or was that the reason? maybe it was something else) he said it would not work because energy is not an object, and that he should work on the object he intended to gain the masculinity. (Some people dislike Will Worker, he joined one discord server and insulted people and dropped a lot of F bombs until he was kicked and banned.) Also according to him, "tactile imaging" develops the brain's ability to give itself tactile sensations, for external stimulation. He also said the Mandela Effect is false memories.

"What choice did you have prior to birth or in dreamless sleep? Tell me exactly how this choice arose and how does it fall away. Did you choose it? Was it imposed on you? Give me a sample of this choiceless thing(you) that has a choice or are you a choice? Did you choose this state of conceiving and perceiving or did it just happen? You were choosing before you were even aware you existed. Ask you mother. You more than likely said no to many things at the age of 2. Who was choosing then. Does a choice require an aware chooser? Apparently not. What kind of choice is a choice without a chooser? Isn't that just cause and effect? What choice made you aware of choosing or was awareness just imposed on you? The choice goes on without your knowing, what you get is the report claiming to have done it."

Just because you don't remember doesn't mean it was you. Or, it doesn't have to be you, but only if you decide you are not your 2 year old self. I think it's a good idea to assume just in case, only because assuming you were not your past self could be bad for you

Meditation practices date back thousands of years and are a part of nearly every major religion. But it’s only in the past couple of decades that researchers have begun to use the tools of modern science to explore what is happening in the brain when people meditate and how meditation might benefit our mind and body. Personally I wouldn’t recommend doing witchcraft for many reasons (but primarily because I feel the mental, physical or emotional cost of magic is never really worth the actual magic itself) but if it works for you go for it

I vagely remember talking to someone who was trying to send me their spirits over Discord. I remember I had to either scribble something or let my pencil scribble to gravity, I don't know. It didn't work, but I did my best to follow their instructions and I told them maybe they didn't want to come out or I joked they didn't like me? I think that sort of thing requires belief and suggestion, and if you aren't suspending your belief enough it won't work. (edited)

i guess i believe it, i mean everything is fun! sure, sometimes it costs money, but if you have the essentials (which i'm guessing you hardly even need) it's quite a cool hobby.. but uh, that's just from my perspective.

A lot of people do it for the aesthetic, yes. I personally do it mostly to prepare for the next life, but started out of curiosity. Now for the more practical part it does have a lot of applications. The biggest one is that you can affect the thoughts, emotions, etc of other people. For instance I have learned to be able to greatly reduce people's anxiety. You can also affect the chances of things and make it easier in this life by giving yourself "luck".
9:39 AM
Of course there are a lot more things, but those were the best examples I could think of.

I do witchcraft as part of my religious practice and yeah I do believe in it. I try to use it to positively affect my surroundings and to ground myself in the world around me. And I do a lot of divination.

Hephaestus’ ugly appearance and lameness is taken by some to represent peripheral neuropathy and skin cancer resulting from arsenicosis caused by arsenic exposure from metalworking. Bronze age smiths added arsenic to copper to produce harder arsenical bronze, especially during periods of tin scarcity. Many Bronze Age smiths would have suffered from chronic arsenic poisoning as a result of their livelihood.
